5 Hot Strategies to Creating Success

5 Hot Strategies to Creating Success

It’s 2016 and your New Year’s Resolution is to earn more money, create more time, become better at sales, get that new sales promotion, or simply build your business stronger.

Check out these 5 Strategies to Help You Attain Your Direction.Suzette Rahn

1.  Attitude Check

  • Is your attitude set up for success or failure?  Your business or brand takes time to build. Yet often times when you open the doors for sales, the thought is “if I build it, they will come.”  That happens in the movie but not in daily business.  It takes a positive attitude, and a willingness to stay.
  • How do you face challenges? Do you embrace challenges and know that when challenges appear, you are learning and growing? Or do you take a look at challenges by cringing and have the overwhelming feeling to quit? Embrace, accept and welcome challenges with the new perspective you are learning and growing.

2.  Inventory Your Skills

  • Write down what you’re really good at.  Thinking about what you’re really good at isn’t enough. Seriously, write them down.  The art of writing is an awesome brain exercise. Plus, with writing and reading what you’re really good at, places positive focus and increases your mindset.
  • Find a quiet place with no interruptions and write down your vision.   What do you see for your business or brand?  People will be attracted to you when they see your vision and begin to build their own vision and brand from your inspiration.
    • For example – when an employee is part of your vision and feels like an intricate part, he/she will put forth more effort, take more pride in their actions and better represent your brand.

3.  Take a Journey

  • Because of reality TV and other similar shows, people love going on a journey.  When you are willing to open up your business, heart and vision customers will come along with you on that journey.  They will rally behind you to see you succeed and because you shared your vision, they will feel like they did their part in helping you.  Word of mouth referrals is still the best form of advertising.
    • Your journey can include business tips that work, did not work or that you won’t do again and why.Journey
    • You can include weekly or monthly goals and activities you intend attain.
    • Share your weekly personal development – a new book or someone that has inspired you.
4.  Simply Relate
  • Relate to your audience whether that’s your employees or customers.  Allow others to simply relate to you and see you are a real person with awesome value.
  • Keep it real meaning be yourself because after all people do business with others out of forming a relationship.  Have you ever driven across town or out of your way to go to a certain restaurant or store because of the service or because you prefer that store?
5.  Invest .. Learn .. Teach .. “ILT”

This is a acronym coined by my mentor and personal coach Ray Higdon.

  • Invest – taking time to invest in a personal coach, reading a book or attending a seminar.
  • Learn – you took the time to learn something new, develop a new skill.
  • Teach – take your notes (Ray call’s those uncashed checks) and monetize them through teaching others what you learned.  It’s a way to give back to your community and provide value to those who share your vision.

How to Heal & Grow Your Money Story

What's Your Money StoryHow to Heal & Grow Your Money Story

Your money story is how you relate and think about money.  We all need money to live and we learn at an early age that the more money you have the better life you have.  Now, I am not here to say that’s a true or false statement – I am merely stating what most don’t want to admit – money enables you to do many many things. Yet, at the same time, your money story or what you think about money has the ability to impact your current financials, including your business life.

Your Belief

We all have a belief and relationship with money.   Have you ever compared yourself to someone else, and thought “I wish my life was more like _______?”  In saying that to yourself, was it said in the context of money/status?   In your business life, have you offered a reduction in your fee before even allowing your customer to pay your regular rate?

In reading this it’s possible this is your “a-ha” moment of realizing your own personal relationship with money and how you view it.

Your belief about money and your belief about your self-worth circles around your belief about money.  Whew!  That’s a lot of belief now isn’t it.  See you are worthy of the life and income you truly desire and want.

Make a Decision

Make a decision no matter what that you are going to make money and learn how to change your old, self-serving and worn out money story. I mean really draw a line in the sand, be sick and tire of being sick and tired of your current financial drama.  IT’S YOUR TIME! That decision can sound something like this “I am going to learn how to earn/make more ___________ ” (insert “money”) Now this statement is no different than “I am going to learn how to snow ski, speak a new language, drive a car, etc.”  Yet see how different the two statements make you feel? It’s easy to say I’m going to learn how to speak a new language; and when we instead insert the word “money” there’s that odd stigma.  That, my friend, is exactly what I am talking about.  That stigma must be removed!

Guidance is Here

Now saying and doing are two separate items, right? Here’s the deal…..I am here to help you re-craft your money story and re-purpose your life into grandness and into what you truly desire.

Are you ready to create the wealth you desire and transform your money story into a masterpiece?  Make a commitment to yourself to make a positive change for the good that will change and shape your world! Here’s how to start: Your Divine Journey.

Your Divine Journey is all about you, and creating the life and lifestyle you dream about.  Email me at Suzette@SuzetteRahn.com for more information.   This is a six week coaching program with enrollment now open!

What is Website Security and How Does it Work?

Is Your Website Secure?Website Security

You may not think your site is worth being hacked, but websites are compromised all the time. The vast majority of website security breaches are not to steal your data or deface your website, but instead are attempts to use your server as an email relay for spam, or to setup a temporary web server.  Your website is then used to send out spam and sometimes illegal activities.

Here are steps to keep your website seure:

  1. Keep your theme and software up-to-date.
  2. If you are running WordPress install “Sucuri” as a security plug in.
  3. Watch your user names associated with your account.  It’s not unusual for a hacker to create a new user name and password associated with your site.
  4. Stay in contact with your host company or webmaster to ensure your site is secure on the front end and backend.
  5. Purchase “SiteLock” or something similar which will continually perform daily scans of your website to ensure it’s safety.
  6. Use a security certificate (SSL) whenever you are passing personal information
between your website and web server or database.

If your site becomes victim of a hacker, take these steps immediately

  1. Call your hosting company immediately and report it.
  2. Discuss with your hosting company the purchase of “Site Doctor Malware Removal” or their specific tool.   Site Doctor Malware performs a total scan of your site to find, fix and remove the malware.
  3. Watch your email because you will receive updates on how Site Doctor Malware experts are doing with scanning your site, and what to expect.  Once you purchase the products, the scans begin immediately.
  4. Upon your site being cleaned and ready for visitors again, the product experts send out notices to Google and other sites informing them your site safe.
  5. Most important: Check all user names that have access to your account.  It is possible for a hacker created one or more new accounts.  Next change all passwords.

Want a Thriving Business? Fish with 100 Lines – Not 1

Fishing with one Line

Are You Fishing with 1 Line or 100 Lines?

Only doing one of these networking tips could mean you’re only using one line instead of 100 lines.

Your business is only as strong as your customers, and if you do not invest a lot of time and effort into reaching new customers, your bottom line will suffer. It’s safe to say generating new leads for your business is important if you want to succeed. Would you agree that fishing with 100 lines is better than 1 line?  Exactly! Social media is wonderful and certainly creates brand awareness; however, social media is a tool not a strategy.

Networking / Forums

Network Group

  1. Be more active on niche-relevant forums and discussion boards to generate easy leads. If you hang out where consumers ask questions, you can gather trust, brand yourself and be a go-to source for them. Not only will they appreciate your assistance, they will also most likely visit your site for more information or to make purchases.
  2. Survey your current customers about where they typically congregate online. To generate quality leads, you need to understand where your audience hangs out. Once you know, get involved in that community any way you can. That may mean advertising or it may mean becoming a leader in the community.
  3. Leads are very valuable. Not every lead would be appropriate for the marketing campaign that you are running. Which target audience are you after? Don’t market to anyone else. You are more likely to find success when you pick the proper leads.
  4. Set time every week to follow up with potential leads. It usually takes more than one touch point to turn a potential qualified lead into a real hot lead. So after you’ve made first contact, set time a week or two later to touch base again. It’s about frequency here to make this person into a customer.
  5. Talk to business owners in related industries. They may be willing to share leads with you by sending their customers your way. For example, if you own a shop where you sell balloons, talking to a florist about a joint venture is a great way to get leads from another business.
  6. Don’t forget your website! Many people create a site and then just leave it, believing that “if you build it, they will come.” They won’t unless you actually put some effort into it. Create a blog and update it frequently, or add new content as often as possible to the site itself.

Pay Per Click Ads

If you plan to use pay-per-click ads to promote your website or social media, create ads which actually bring in targeted leads. Make sure it is clear what you’re selling and that the call to action is solid. Don’t make them blink or include fluorescent colors unless you want to drive away potential leads.

Ensure when using PPC that you drill down to your exact customer.   Use what you learned in your survey about what customers want so your target can be even more targeted.  Your survey represents your customer’s problems and your PPC and business represent the problem solver.

Google

Look into pay per click campaigns to generate leads. The first place most people go to seek business opportunity is Google. If you aren’t on page 1 organically for the typical search terms they use, then you need to pay to be there. You only are charged if people click the ads, so it’s an excellent way to simply build brand awareness as well.

By investing enough time and effort into lead generation, you can make sure that your business is properly situated for future growth. If you neglect lead generation, on the other hand, your business will suffer. Do not let this happen to you.

Have a fantastic day.

4 Basic Concepts to Achieving Success

Have you ever thought about or muttered this sentence?  “If only I knew last year, what I know today.”   Let’s do a quick exercise right now.  Sit back, close your eyes and think how your life would be any different with the knowledge you have today, as you sit here now reading this.  Would you have read more, pushed yourself more, made more money, opened your dream business or changed any habits?

The great news about all this?  It starts today and from this day forward, you are unstoppable.

Here are the 4 Basic Concepts to Achieving Success – explained.Number 4

  • What are you reading, listening to and how are you enriching your brain?
    • Listen to those who have what you want.  That means a mentor, success coach or someone who has achieved success.
    • Achieve success in what you read or books on tape.  Instead of listening to music while you drive, switch to motivation audio, CD or recorded book.
      • Suggested books:  “It’s Not About You,” “Outwitting the Devil,” “Think and Grow Rich,” “Three Feet from Gold” are a few suggestions.  For more book suggestions, comment on this post and I’ll be happy to share other book titles with you.Success
  • Are you Teachable & for How Long?
    • It means are you willing to keep an open mind? Are you willing to accept change? Are you willing to give up something to achieve success?  How much time are you willing to invest? Are you willing to make a financial investment in yourself?
      • Foolishness is doing the same actions day in and day out thinking you’ll achieve a different result.
      • In order for things to change in your life, you first must change the way you think, do and speak.
  • Continue to have a willingness to learn even when you think “I got it.”  When your mind says “I got it” it slows your ability to keep an open mind and allow information to flow in.  Rather that small statement hinders your ability to learn and retain information.
  • Your Training and Life Balance Scale
    • Think of the left side as your ‘why” and the right side as your “how” you plan to get there
      • Your why equals your thought process, goals, dreams, energy and motivation.
        • Your why is most important as it’s comes back to your thoughts, language and teachability – the words used in your everyday language.  Keep it positive, upbeat and actionable.
      • Your how equals action steps, strategy and plans.
        • Don’t allow yourself to worry about how you will get there.  Your why and positive thoughts will guide you on the how.
        • Overthinking the how tends to poison your thoughts and negative words enter the brain which derail you into believing it’s not possible.
        • In the end the how will work itself out with your positive, upbeat thoughts and desire to succeed.
  • Take in New Information
    • Daily positive affirmations.
    • Repetition – doing it over and over.
    • Observing others doing what you want.
    • Being around those who have what you want.

Remember:  If you continue to think the way you’ve always thought, you’ll continue to get what you’ve always got.

Why Facebook Marketing Beats Peanut Butter on Pancakes

Technically Facebook Marketing has less calories than peanut butter on pancakes!  Dang! Doesn’t that look yummy though?shutterstock_255612790

Facebook marketing is a great tool for entrepreneurs to appeal to a larger audience while gaining feedback on your goods or services. Because it’s easier to respond directly to customers, a relationship can be easily built. People buy from those they like, know and trust.

  1. Fan Page/Business Page:  If you haven’t already set up a fan page or business page do so now because Facebook does not allow you market your personal page through ads.  With your fan page / business page, each like becomes a lead to your business.  Every like on your page will begin your all important list.  We will talk more about that and how to market to those that are looking for exactly what you offer.
  2. Custom Tabs: When you first create your fan page or business Facebook page, you’ll have general tabs like the wall and info tabs. Extend your capabilities by creating your own custom tabs. Some businesses have tabs that contain links to various kinds of content like products, newsletters, and ongoing contests.
  3. Goals/Expectations:  Set your goals and expectations for your Facebook marketing campaign. This includes your budget – how much do you want to spend either daily or monthly.
  4. Discounts/Offers:  These are hot buttons for restaurants, dry cleaners, and other brick and mortar businesses.  OfferWant More Followers a discount or a freebie on your fan page / business page to increase followers, and will encourage your followers to share the offer. When people share your offer, you are exposing your business to additional customers that may not have heard of you.
  5. Caution:  If you decide to subscribe to updates from other Facebook pages, make sure you do not subscribe to brands you are competing against. Choose pages that will help you create a positive image for your brand. If you want to share other updates with your own following, remember that your brand will thus become associated with that page.
  6. How To Post: When you post content, one of your intentions should be to elicit responses from your community. Therefore, think about each post and figure out how to phrase things so that people will want to comment on what you have to say. Explicitly asking for opinions is one of the best ways to do this.
  7. Be Real:  This one is a BIG one!  Be yourself and be real.  Don’t overcomplicate it.  As you are writing your content, place yourself in front of your perfect customer and write as if you are talking directly to that customer.

10 Tips for Writing Emails that Get Read

Email ListAre You Using Email To Your Advantage?

Don’t Miss These Tips for Writing Emails that Get Read

  1.  Create an Email that is Highly Anticipated.    When you check your inbox do you gravitate to opening an email from a friend or corporation?  Silly question right?  Of course, it’s from your friend. When addressing your email to your list, personalize it, write it as if you are corresponding with your friend – making it about one person not your entire list.  Write your email in a respectful voice as if you are sitting next to the person reading your email.
  2. Subject Line.  Think of a subject line that would make you want to open it.    Take it one step further, and think of your subject line as a magazine headline.  Have you been at the grocery checkout line and a certain magazine cover catches your attention?  That is how you want your email subject line to read!
  3. Promise.  Give your reader value by providing them a promise they will learn whatever your niche is.  As you continue to email your readers and they continue to receive value through your content, your reader know, like and trust you, which in turn means your emails will be opened and read.
  4. Avoid using the words “list,” “newsletter” or other similar meanings.  Today email is the quickest and least expensive way to broadcast to the masses.  When an email is received by your reader, the person quickly determines is there something in it for me.  If your reader feels they are on a list or receiving a newsletter, you got it – the email is transferred to the round file (trash).   Using words like “thank you for opting into my list” or “congrats on joining my newsletter” most likely your reader will skip over your email.
  5. Use Your Name.  This is obvious but how many times have you received an email where you have no idea who it’s from?  Did you open the email?  Bet not.  Just like personalizing your message to one reader, be a real sender!  Using your name is also a branding aspect.
  6. Don’t be Creepy.  Ever get an email and all through the email your name is repeated over and over?  Kind of feels creepy, huh?  That is an email that is full of scripts and reads like a call center.
  7. Be Understanding.  Be on your readers side. Tell them you understand their struggles. Empathize with them, and ask how you can help.
  8. Rewards.  Make sure people benefit from reading your emails. How? Share a useful tip. Make them feel better. Inspire them.
  9. Insert Hyperlinks.  Add hyperlinks within your email because it increases your chances of people clicking that link.
  10. P.S.  Don’t be afraid to add Post Script (P.S.) to your email.  P.S. can be used to to remind your reader of a deadline or use it to repeat what your reader will lose if they don’t take you up on your offer.

10 Words that Cripple Your Presentation

10 Words that Cripple Your PresentationPresentation

Your presenting your service, product or business and it’s going awesome.  Then, at some point, it all changes and the participation energy in the room significantly decreases or shifts.  Check out the list below because using any of the words below are likely the crippling cause:

  1. Honestly – using the word honestly within your language sends a trigger to others wondering if every thing said prior was true.  Honestly takes away your credibility. Ever find yourself listing to someone talk and the word honestly is used?
  2. Innovative – this word means “ahead of the times” and when using this word in your presentation your audience psychologically wonderings if it’s real or proven.
  3. Basically – is a word that means at the bottom. When sharing your business, product or service one does not want to insinuate “at the bottom.”
  4. Cheap – also means inexpensive and referring to your product, service or business as as such gives the impression you are comparing it something else providing other with doubt.
  5. Actually – is another word similar to honestly.  The word actually infers the prior information was not correct.
  6. Cutting-Edge – sounds more like a sales pitch in a presentation, and brings no real value to your direction.  In the fashion world it’s about being on the cutting-edge of fashion and style.
  7. Discount – there is an expectation to clients and customers that once offered a discount, the product or service will continually be discounted.  Using the word discount discredits the price point for what your offering, and gives the impression it’s over-priced.
  8. Don’t/Do Not – negative! The use of either word provides negativity and subconsciously tells your customer not to do what you are asking.  Think of positive words to use when explaining the high points of your products or service.
  9. But – It’s used in many sentences and also includes a negative undertone.  Here’s an example: The sunset was beautiful but.. The mind automatically thinks, something is wrong with the beautiful sunset and conditions the brain to be prepared for something negative.
  10. Like – Oh how this word is used in everyday language when explaining something, especially in teenage girls today  In business, when using this word in your presentation it’s like means comparison to something or else.
  11. Ground Floor – Refers to an apartment building or similar dwelling.  Using the statement ‘this is a ground floor opportunity” means very little the people in your audience listening to your presentation.  In fact it comes off as a pitch and takes away from your credibility.

Social Media Posting for Profits

Raise The Profits of Your Business with Social NetworksSocial Media

Do you have some questions on how to post on social media for profit? Awesome! Let’s get started.

Target Audience

Determine who is your target audience, their age, male/female or both, what type of car do they drive, income level, etc.  These are must knows because if your product or service is specifically meant for only men, and you are targeting women you are effectively tossing money out the door by targeting the wrong market.  For more information on drilling down to your target audience, connect with me at Suzette@SuzetteRahn.com.

Company Blog

Providing value through your company blog not only raises awareness of your business, it also provides value to your target audience.  Providing free content to your target audience, allows your audience to know, like and trust you.  Your blog can be in written form, video or both.  Most people are more inclined to watch a quick video than read.  Add to that with many social media users today are using their smart phones to browse social media. Think about what your product or service is, and write or shoot a quick video to share with your target audience.  Here are a couple questions to ask yourself: How does your product or service help your audience?  How can your product or service serve to fix your target audience’s problem? When your audience views you as the problem solver, you also gain more credibility and trust.

Social Media Share

Once you’ve written your blog, share your blog link on all your social media channels.  (Yes, your business should have a Facebook Fan Page or Business Page, YouTube Channel, Twitter Account, LinkedIn, etc.)

To boost your page engagement, also run contests, ask interesting questions and displaying intriguing pictures.  It is a good idea to post at least 3 – 5 times a day on social media to keep your audience engaged.

Think with the End in Mind

Another way to think of it is – determine what your end goal is.  Is it to raise awareness of your brand? Is it to bring more customers in the door?  If you end goal is to bring more customers in your door, run a paid promotion through social media marketing. By running your ad, offer customers who see your ad a discount when they purchase.  An example is, “mention this ad in the store, and receive a 10% discount on your purchase.”  If your end goal is to raise awareness of your brand, run a paid ad through like campaigns.  For instance, a Facebook like campaign will bring awareness to your company by specific target marketing.

Keys to Being a Great Leader

4 Key Components to Being A Great Leader

For a business to be successful, it must have an effective leader. That’s a given right?   What if I told you the world’s greatest business leaders continually invest in themselves through reading books, attending seminars and hiring other great leaders? Yes, every great leader invests in themselves daily.

1.  Accountability

When you’re a leader, be accountable. That means if you make a mistake, admit it and move on. It can be easy to push the blame onto other people, but don’t do it! If you’re accountable when you’ve made a mistake, the people around you will feel the need to be more accountable if they’ve made a mistake.

2.  Recognition

Always remember that a great leader builds up and does not need to tear down. Do not be overly critical of those on your team. Be quick to give commendation, praise and recognition. Even when people fail, commend the effort and inspire them.

3.  Respect

You can never be a good leader if you don’t respect that others may have different opinions than your own. While it may seem like being a leader is all about bossing people around, you can never be the boss if you have no idea how to respect the feelings of others.

While you should always be there for your team as a leader, don’t forget to nurture growth in yourself. Figure out where it is that you want to grow. Do what you can to stretch yourself as much as you can. Engage and deepen your passions and strengths to make your most valuable contributions.

4.  Leadership

Leadership means the action of leading a group of people or an organization.  It isn’t something to be taken lightly. Leadership can entail many facets – guiding others to complete a project or task or motivating the members of your team to be their best selves.

While you may not be aware of it, others around you are watching and looking up to you.

Think about those you have impacted in your life. Do you have a few in mind? Congratulations – you are a leader!  Keep it and continue to inspire and lead others.
